We use sustainably sourced camphor laurel timber sourced locally from the Northern Rivers region. Camphor Laurel was declared a pest by State Forests in the nineties and we’ve been putting it to good use ever since. There’s an abundance of Camphor Laurel timber in the area and it feels good to see it being used to create something special rather than being bulldozed over.
Another amazing benefit is that Camphor Laurel has natural antibacterial properties which aids in bacteria not growing on or in the boards. This means that they are fantastic as a general purpose chopping board. The natural shapes and colours of the boards can bring out a person’s creativity when presenting food; each time you serve up, your friends will think you’re a pro!
